AYCO hosted a Health Fair this December at the DREAM Center, bringing together community members and local organizations to focus on health and wellness. The event included tabling and workshops that shared resources and encouraged connection. Youth took part in a hands-on screen-printing workshop, and Afrovillage led an emergency preparedness workshop for community members.

We partnered with Afrovillage, TriMet, CareOregon, and OHA, all of whom hosted tables and engaged directly with attendees. In total, 125 community members attended, with more than 150 connections made to health and wellness resources.

The Health Fair focused on:

• Connecting community members to accessible health and wellness resources

• Emergency preparedness education & kits

• Advancing AYCO’s mission to establish the DREAM Center as a cultural resilience hub for African immigrants, refugees, and youth

The event also marked the completion of SHIP Round 2’s final session, with community feedback shared with OHA. Attendees left better informed about state health resources and priorities, strengthening community knowledge and engagement moving forward.
